SKY AND EARTH
In most polytheistic religions, the sun, lightning,
falling rain, and rainbows were understood as
movements of the Sky Father over the Earth Mother.
For when rain falls from heaven, trees and plants
are fertilized and when the sun penetrates the earth
she releases her riches and the trees bear fruit.
And a rainbow, a heavenly bridge that connects
the worlds of gods and men, arches over the earth in
a wide and splendid embrace.
